When I go to the http://mysite.com/sites/default/files/images/ddblock

It shows page not found and the folder permissions are @ 777 for testing. I do have a .htaccess file in the sites/default/files and I deleted it to test and still shows same Page NF.

I also created a separate directory http://mysite.com/sites/default/files/ddblock w/ the same 777 permissions and get 403 permission denied w/ the .htaccess file deleted. When its not deleted I get "The page isn't redirecting properly."

I don't know what to set the permission to for the default and/or the files directories.

Once I can access the image folder by the http, then maybe it will work.

Am I able to set the path to my normal image directory @ http://mysite.com/images/ddblock?

Seen your issue I assume you use the basic option of the ddblock slideshow module following the tutorial at: http://ddblock.myalbums.biz/node/1973

What is your Public file system path setting at: Administration » Configuration » Media?
What is your setting in the ddblock module for the path?
Where are the images stored for the slideshow?
