Sorry if this sounds stupid, but I installed this module and nothing's happened when I insert an image.
I mean, the settings appear on my Text Format configuration, but it doesnt do anything ...
Where / how can I set the maximum width limit for the image inserted?

This module doesn't limit maximum width in any way. What it does is read the "height" and "width" properties of <img> tags and resizes the image to match it. Other modules provide options for insertion (Insert) and max-width.
