Most useful feature would be backup the database and the settings files and sending via options of download to the local desktop and email preset cron times on settings of the Backup module

Additionally saving the files/ directory for media and images, to a backup files directory and to the desktop it would be perfect.
Joomla backup module would be a good example to look at

Hi,

I'm going to mark this bug as a duplicate because I already have a bug for tracking cron functionality at http://drupal.org/node/128332

As for emailing files via cron, I do not think I will be implementing that feature. The reason being is that I think sending large files through email is simply not a good idea. It's just not what email was intended for.

I do not wish to be on the receiving end of complaints from users who got a 10 Megabyte backup file mail to them and exceeded their mail quota -- or wondered why their mail client became unresponsive as it downloaded this one huge message.

The idea of emailing backups does have some merit, but I believe that the support costs on my end would outweigh the benefits for the users. Sorry.
