Looks like you need to disable bbcode under tinymce settings.
how exactly do i do that?
how exactly do i do that? remind you im a total beginner in drupal...

are you certain that you need to use drupal? i dont want to sound crass, but if you want to claim you do "web design," you should not be a "total n00b," out there.
what do you wish to accomplish in using drupal as opposed to straight HTML code? there are plenty of WYSIWYG html editors out there, and you could even use Artisteer to draw up a nice page and dump it as raw html.
i'm going to go out on a limb here and assume you had nothing to do with the creation of the sites listed in the potfolio.

im not sure what your aim
im not sure what your aim other than trying to be a jerk is, but yes those are my sites, i am a small web developer, but- until recently i used Joomla exclusively. im trying to teach myself drupal. so unless you have something to offer other than being a rude prick, let someone else interested in helping a drupal beginner answer, please and thank you

i think i helped you before with mercury... different username on my part.
it was not intended for me to come off as a prick, but i wont hold it against you for processing it that way.
i understand your stance. i just had to ask. trust that i am not one of the many D.N's around here.
i also think it has to do with editing under full html/filtered html/plain text.
check out the picture here, it might answer your question.

i apologize for taking it the wrong way. this is just frustrating for me because i can do everything i need to in Joomla but i cant figure out drupal just yet...
i tried creating content all three ways and its still doing the same thing.... awesome cricket, i see that you registered on the site, would it help if i promoted you to admin status and you can check my settings?
...
I don't use those editors, but my initial thought is you might have to check your /admin/config/content/formats settings.

i tried disabling BBCode but i did it in the wrong editor, once i did that it works fine, thank you guys for all your help!!
:)
glad to hear you worked it out. in my personal experience, i have fixed things the same way with drupal. a little tenacity pays off with drupals learning curve.
