Try this, I had the same problem as you, and found another bug. Try this version: http://ftp.osuosl.org/pub/drupal/files/projects/spreadfirefox-5.x-1.x-de...

That appears to give a correct layout for me.

Problem fixed for IE, still existing in firefox 2.0.3
