After a couple discussions with @lnunesbr we are excited about Easy Social and are wondering where to go from here for an eventual 2.0 release for 7.x and a possible backport for 6.x.

Here's a list of some of the stuff we have in mind, PLEASE chip in!:

  1. Create a hook to allow modules to define new easy_social widgets - this would make the module more flexible and allow an easy implementation for other sharing services.
  2. Find a reliable and plausible way to count and/or monitor clicks and expose this information to other modules such as Rules, Flag, Views, etc...
  3. Implement a local javascript cache to improve performance (is this really necessary?)
  4. Integrate with Views as a field for node views (new)

We will update this list regularly so please chip in and help improve Easy Social!

I'm gonna have to interrupt the crickets here to anounce that Easy Social 7.x-2.0-beta2 is available for download & testing: http://drupal.org/node/1346378

It should be a 100% transparent upgrade for all users so go ahead and check it out!

New features will not be added to the 2.x branch anymore!

Please use a new issue to add feature requests for the (eventual) 3.x branch.

Drupal 7 is no longer formerly supported. Just cleaning up the issue queue. If this is something that still exists in the modern drupal version, feel free to re-open and provide some notes.
