I find myself doing pages which have view fields / view references (with and without arguments).

The views data and the variations provided by args is the main info of the page but the pages may have lengthy introductory text.

I don't want the views info, the main info being pushed way down the page, below the fold, by paragraphs of text.
It would be cool if this module could automate the creation of a tab from the node content after the teaser.

Does that make sense?

I will look into this and see what happens :). I have been quite busy recently but I am going to do some more work on this module shortly.
