I searched for 'performance' on this site - 45.271s! Knowing that it takes a while here to get a search performed. I was wondering if there was a way to sort search results. Posts dealing with outdated performance issues are not exactly what I was looking for. Wouldn't it be great to have a simple option to sort search results? If this is a problem could you please default sorting search results by date? It takes ages to go from one page to the other - just having the newest posts listed on top of your search result page can't make search times worse, can it?
Note: If there is a hidden sorting feature I would be glad if someone could tell me where to find it. I know this is a high traffic site. The simple question: Is there a performance issue? If yes, is this related to drupals inner workings or is is it just me having problems?

It's not you having
It's not you having problems! Drupal.org IS slow. Apparently, this is due to outdated to hardware. I hope so, because this site, which ought to be encouraging to use Drupal, is actually not doing so...
With regard to your sorting issues, I can't help you. I don't think there is much customization possible here.
Luckily, the helpful crowd hanging out here makes up for the ssslllloooowwww response time of the site itself.
