Administer Default Sku + Additional Attributes

I am wondering if you are open to a patch that improves product display manager by adding the following features:

a. ) Administer Default SKU
Pretty much admin user can change what would be the first sku aka the default product variation -- important for products with select options.
b. ) Display Additional Attributes
Additional get the product additional attributes aka the fields using the select/checkboxes,radios widget.
