The Teaser is not cloned at all.

This is almost certainly a bug or problem in the way that module is handling its data.

Try the 5.x-2 branch, and see if you have better luck- the mechanism of clning is different: http://drupal.org/node/123332

With node_clone 5.x-2.x is the same problem.
