Comparing ImageMenu with a Menu it
- uses a different style ... i.e. alternating colors odd/even
- it uses table for the layout instead of ul, li
- It is not listed in the primary/secundary links

Tried to add a screenshot (no succes :-(

As a top menu it renders on IE way different. All items are below each other.

I did mention that it was only *loosely* based on the menu module ;o) The different style classes are intentional, it's in no way intended to be a replacement for menu module more a tool which will work alongside it. I did mess around with using item lists (ul, li, etc) instead of simply creating tables but the simplicity of the output made me do it this way. Incidentally, your theme is creating the different colours for odd and even styles not the module... Again keep in mind, that it's only a filter not a menu replacement and so was never intended to be listed in primary/ secondary links - it doesn't utilize the menu module in any way, it uses all it's own independent functions and so as Drupals menu mechanism doesn't support images it can't replace it.

I'm very open to suggestions with this module; I glossed over this on the modules homepage - it's actually specifically built for one certain site for the sponsors and so doesn't really contain any extra functionality as such to be useful for a diverse range of sites... It's very specific with what it does... Even the horizontal output is extremely basic as it's not required by the sponsors, I just thought I'd add it in myself to see how it'd look!

I close this one ... it's still on my list and nothing happens to it.

Well that's because your problem isn't a problem with the module, it's a problem with your 1) understanding of what the module does, and 2) your sites own css styling...

...I can't fix something which isn't broken? And I'm certainly not able to give advice on theming issues, that's way beyond me...
