Agreed. It is kind of weird that on a new install I have to keep signing up for trial accounts before I can put my info in.

bassplaya commented@fortina I think your customer (or you) has to set it up with a new test account (which you can delete afterwards) and then change the API key in the transcoder settings under admin/config/media/video/transcoders. Then the only thing he needs to do is to give you his Zencoder's API key.
See if that works.
