View location info of Solr search result

Ultimately I am trying to get Apache Solr Results displayed in a map.
I have this working with Solr + location + gmap... but cant get it working with OL

A) I would like to collect the users geo data with the open layers geofield because it has a much better UI than gmap/location - instant pin placement and better auto-complete reliability.

B) I cant seem to get OL to diplay my solr results in a view with OL map
Tried several settings.. it seems to work with D7 only, i found a D7 module? anyone showing Solr results with OL??

C)So I would like to use my existing views setup which works with location to display results
I tried pointing the gmap style to WKT field but no luck (the WKT field is null)
I tried using token to populate the [latitude] + [longitude] into cck fields - no luck apparently tokens are not working according to one of the issue queue's??

Does anyone know how to use use the info collected in the Open Layers Geofield map to populate either cck lat/long fields or better yet the location module's lat long fields, so that I can point to them in my view

If anyone has some insight on any of these points It would be appreciated.
