Ip2Nation module

Leonth - March 29, 2007 - 07:32

The Ip2Nation module I have just made provides an API to access ip2nation database in Drupal. Actually, there is a module called ip2cc which does the same thing, but it exposes another Ip-to-Country database . Ip2nation data is better because it is optimized for queries, so I made this module.

Another feature in this module is commenter's information. You can show from which country a comment in your website is from. This is nice especially for social websites that have lots of users all around the world, or for personal blogs. Of course you can turn off this feature at will (it is, by default). If you know HTML you can put up country flags in the comments, too.

Visit my website for more information.

This module needs to be a real module

Hi, I'm not sure how you do this, but you need to add an official module page for this so people can highlight bugs.

If you do get this message, I was wondering if there was a way to use IP2nation database to easily add a form field produces the country list from the IP2nation database and then adds the flag? This would mean that a user could select their nationality for example.

Thanks!

I do not currently have

I do not currently have enough time to administer a project. There is even a more important module (Pingback) that I can not cater...

Your idea about the form field is certainly possible though. I believe this is in conjunction with issue #213783: Country codes

blog...

In case you find this post before the module
