This is a must have module for every site.... especially all newbies and people like me who create a lot of content and then just a one silly table drop can lead to disasters.
I have been planning to move a major site to D7, but have been testing around.
I read some useful blogs and steps, but didn't follow them exactly as it says "backup database before your proceed"...
Installed Schema module, found few tables that were not linked, while deleting some columns in a table, i clicked "drop" by mistake and ended up dropping the whole content type table...
Quickly called the host and asked them to revert to a day old back and they did help by restoring... BUT ..... it was a backup of the same day and time so nothing got restored and they don't keep multiple backups.
the site ended up looking bad slowly as soon as the cached pages starts to distort.
But luckily i had installed backup & migrate module sometime ago, but never used it properly. and only during a testing last week, luckily downloaded a working backup of the sql db that I was not sure if it was a good backup to restore, because i never thought of it as a backup file.
Anyway it was my last hope, didn't believe that an unintentional download from Backup & restore module could be so helpful and restored my site to a week before.
All it took was some time to upload the db to the server using an FTP client as the file size allowed on Backup & migrate is only 2MB and I couldn't careless as it had the option to read from a server location and it was good enough.
once again
