I spent some time back in May and contributed a patch agains the dev version (which was quite large). I am posting the tar ball in case anyone else may find it useful. Please note I am not a developer so cannot maintain this, but hope that soneone else may continue support for this.

This allows
* contribution records for each line item linked to a single uc invoice
* multiple memberships with linked contribution records

I did not look at events as a product so additional modifications may be needed for events/contribution record integration.

We are probably going to take your version and work on fixing the event functionality, since it doesn't work.
