I am working on a multi-language site and we are trying to figure out the best pattern for auto-aliasing the URL. The default that comes with Path auto is to use the title, and we're trying to decide how to have an English alias being used on foreign content, especially Chinese ones.

Any ideas are WELCOME.

You can use the [node:source] to get the title of a node's translation source if you translate all your content from English versions.
