Integrate with media project.

This will probably make a lot more maintainable the code for interaction with files.

This is a meta issue to track integration:

For people who already want to use Issuu with Media: I just discovered that Issuu can be used with the Media module through oEmbed.

Use the same workflow as suggested for SlideShare on http://drupal.org/node/1058378#comment-5617702.

I'm working on this on a sandbox http://drupal.org/sandbox/mallezie/1538208

I finished work on the media-integration of issuu.
You find all code in my sandbox page.
http://drupal.org/sandbox/mallezie/1538208

It works without the oembed tool, but only makes use of issuu search api. I'm hoping you could integrate this code into the issuu module.
I propose to make it an independant submodule since an API-key is not needed for the read-only integration.
If you want me to provide a patch, that's no problem.

I'm willing to help maintain this module (the D7 version).

mallezie: I am happy to announce you are now co-maintainer with access to add your code directly to the repository :-)

When do you expect adding the media module integration to the module? Is it worth waiting for it or is it a good idea to check out the sandbox project of Mallezie?

I'm merging my sandbox in this module, when that's done, my sandbox will be removed.
I hope to do this in a few days, i was on a holisay the last week.

The sandbox merge has already been applied to 7.x-1.x-dev: http://drupalcode.org/project/issuu.git/commit/9b91a9b by Mallezie on 29 July.

I'm sort of thinking of developing this further in a 2.x further.
For now there is a base-version of read-only media-integration working in dev.
Should we release this as beta, and develop the write-integration, and use of API-integration branch in a 2.x version.
This way we could now make stable read-only, and go further in dev. And focus also for read-only in media 1.x and develop 2.x integration focussed on media 2.x.

I'm just not sure where the issuu-code (not media-issuu code) in 1.x is stated now.
Feedback welcome!

I wen't ahead and created an 2.X branch with only media-code. You're welcome to try it out.
