The Token UI has a means for placing a token into a textarea with a click. This is lacking in Token Filter.

Would be extra-good to be able to give the tokens that are visible humna-readable names so that editors don't have to learn token syntax. Even better, integrate the token list with a WYSIWYG button, so that users can select a token to enter into the textarea.

We'd want a curated list of which tokens to appear in this drop-down (only the ones that we will most commonly use).

Agreed on providing the token tree in the direct filter help.

Also see http://drupal.org/project/token_insert. It would probably be nice to fold in the token wysiwyg plugin here too since it is so filter-based.

I think this requirement is entirely covered by the token_insert module for Drupal 7.
