Hi,

I enabled the module and created a block according to the readme file but I get the following message:

"Strict warning: Only variables should be passed by reference in featured_content_block_view() (line 330 of C:\xampp\htdocs\site1\sites\all\modules\featured_content-7.x-1.0-beta2\featured_content\featured_content.module)."

I looked up on the d.o. website but could not find a topic related to the module itself which is why I created this post.

Has anyone else come across such issue?

I will try to look into this within a few days. It is probably showing up since you are running in strict php mode.

I have changed the code so the error should be gone. It will be in the next dev version that is created by drupal.org and should be out in a few minutes. Please test.
