Hello and thanks in advance,
I really don't want to re-invent the wheel.
I've 5.1 installed and I need to create an "information only" website. The site would have 4+ webpages with information and contact info. Before, I dive into the howto use the Drupal interface ... and learn how to build the pages... I was thinkin'/hopin' there are pre-built sites that can be loaded/imported/unloaded/untar'rd then every so sligthly tweak. I rather tweak that learn... i know i'm lazy... i just do not have the time to be a Drupal developer ( if i did have the time, i am sure i would enjoy it) and need to be a admin/tweaker.
Highest regards,
Lazy Bum

Thanks for the thread... it was very insightful/frightful ;). I need a surf board. Drupal is an Aircraft carrier... or maybe an Armada...
Drupal has more (MUCH) than is needed for my simple site. I am going to spend a bit more time looking for some VERY simple Drupal pre-builts (5.1) ... then move on...

In the absence of an instant site, try this process. Since you only have a few pages, it will be easy.
1. Create your first story.
* Create Content > Story.
* Copy-paste your content.
Don't submit yet.
2. Scroll down and look for Menu settings.
3. In the text box, type a menu link. That is, the info you just pasted will automatically appear on the menu as a Link in the Primary menu.
4. Click submit.
Repeat for the other bits of info you want.

See what you mean about the "appear on the menu then as a link".
Entry level Drupal screencasts.....
This guys spent a little time putting together a few screencast that stepped me through some of the basics.... Enough that I could get a first draft/round site up and working.
