Fresh install - error after uploading, no player

I am setting up a Drupal site on a local Windows machine, Drupal 5, PHP 4.

After installing the audio module and correctly installing getid3, the module doesn't work. The "play" link downoads a file called "drupal" without an extension - no flash player is ever seen.

Uploading the audio works, recognizing the id3 tags and uploading the file to the site. However, an error appears, saying:
"The selected file c:\...\htdocs\drupal could not be copied."

I don't understand this error - the audio file was uploaded successfully, and permissions should be right.

Users cannot play audio, so this is a problem.
