Jack Digital Productions Inc. is a healthcare innovation company combining content, technology and unique approaches to support clinicians and engage patients in new models of care. Currently we are seeking a technical specialist for future development and maintenance of our Drupal sites.
As technical specialist, your primary role is to maintain our existing Drupal sites, problem solve, and develop new features to meet user needs. With a focus on development, the ideal candidate will also be great at both the back-end (module development, site maintenance) and front-end work (css, theming, javascript, jquery, ux).
Essential skills
- You know Drupal (v6.x) inside and out. You're a site administrator and module developer. You've written lots of custom Drupal code and have plenty of experience with common modules like Views, CCK, Panels and i18n. You've built multilingual sites.
- You've got demonstrable experience and depth in all aspects of the LAMP stack. You're fluent in PHP. You know vi/vim well enough to make minor configuration changes on the server.
- You have experience maintaining a large codebase. Reading code, maintaining standards, and knowing when to document are familiar tasks.
- You excel at problem-solving, both in taking an abstract idea and constructing a technical solution, and diagnosing and resolving technical issues with websites.
Important:
- You'll be administering sites in a Linux environment (Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS & Cygwin). Reading and writing bash scripts will be helpful.
- You're comfortable with version control. You'll be using Subversion on a daily basis.
- You’re a self-starter, comfortable working independently and contributing as a member of a team.
A background in computer science or software engineering is a plus.
Nice to have
- Advanced experience with staging, production and live environments, and how to manage their complexity.
- A good design sense combined with an understanding of interactive usability. You're comfortable with Photoshop and Illustrator.
- The ability to transform a visual design into a working theme.
