As said, it would be a bit more awesome if the Linkit button was disabled when nothing is selected in the editor, for UX purposes. And it would be more similar to TinyMCE.
I'll try to look into it now…

anonI have got some feature requests face to face from some colleagues about adding support for email links and anchor links.
It the case of adding the anchor features, we do have to let the button be "ON" all the time.

fietserwinIMO, this is bad UX as it only supports one way of creating links: first typing the link text (or inserting a thumbnail image), then turning it into a link. I think that the suggestion in #1459832: Shouldn't CKEditor display a node title instead of a node URL ? is better: support both ways, thus also creating a link and text (suggestion) at once.
