Candidate Debut feature: event registration [#1334618]

Would be good to extend the existing Debut Event feature with registration functionality. This would go in a new feature that enhances and requires Debut Event.

Candidate solutions include:

Signup http://drupal.org/project/signup
CCK signup http://drupal.org/project/cck_signup
Entity registration http://drupal.org/project/registration

Of these, Entity registration seems promising. While at an early stage, it takes full advantage of Drupal 7 entities and is rapidly developing.

I used the Flag module to implement this very roughly. I simply reused the provided "Bookmarks" view that comes with it but it could easily be adapted. In fact, I'm willing to provide a patch for the Event feature if we decide on this solution.
