recently i fixed my maximum upload potential on my server, and have since began uploading a full, complete video file i need on my server.

however, for over an hour now i have been waiting for the file to complete uploading.

the question now is this: how do i know if my file is actually being uploaded over to the site? i am basically moving the .flv from one hd to another via an upload. from D: to my web folder. it's still hanging at the upload process, :\

"Files must be less than 1.95 GB,"
actual file size = 798Mb

Pls. make sure that your configured temp —area have sufficient disk space. On some servers are /tmp split into a rather small separate partition. ssh into your server and do a 'df -h' could tell you if that is the case.

thanks for your thoughts and ideas, i appreciate it.

my server "should" have ample available space. my C: drive has a few gigs of space ready, and the file is only 798 Mb

i am uploading on a testbed on "localhost," i am wondering if there is some kind of upload speed associated with my server which is just slowing the process down?

i ran a speedtest which told me my upload speed was only 31.4 kbps. i did the math and 798 / 31.4 equaled out to 25.4140127. my dreadful idea is that may be HOURS to transfer over my server; 25 hours! i don't think that sounds appropriate, though, as i can copy from drive to drive in a matter of moments.

anyway, the file is still supposedly uploading and my server (computer hard drive,) is still showing no change in terms of dataspace being consumed (not showing less space available,)

something is up.. weird. i just tested a smaller file, which was 138Mb in size, it uploaded in a matter of seconds!

edit:
i'm reuploading the original file agian and it is now showing an "upload" status in my browser. maybe i had a bad connection last time. so far, so good now. :)

strange..

the smaller file completed the upload process fine and returned to the admin page for creating the node in question,

the larger file crashes out after uploading with a 500 error.

the file also uploads, but only partially.
