Would it be possible to have smileys use BBcode as input as opposed to html?

Despite rearranging input format order so smileys is above html filter (all html set to be escaped), smileys are coming out as html code (which isn't being run). However if it was using BBcode it would run fine for me.

Smileys dont use any html for input. Input is just the acronym like :-) or :-D that's it. why would you need bbcode here. the output is however html and this way the smileys to appear as they are supposed to. either you are missing the point or confused.. waiting for reply, close the issue if necessary.
