I have a case where I'm pulling address data from an external database. (It also could be the case for a web service)
For this I'm using a computed field, that ends up storing the information.

It would be nice to have geo_field recognize "computed fileds" as possible sources.

I will make the change myself, but I'm posting the feature request as I think this would be of general interest.
