I guess this is a feature request in an offhand type of way. I've been looking up resources for doing international geocoding for a site of mine that's still in early design stages. I came across http://geonames.org which I thought might be a useful resource for the authors of this project. It's an amazingly complete resource for geocoding, and has downloadable database dumps of all the countries it supports, as well as a REST style interface. All free from what I've read.
