Auto Generate Meta tags & Description for Node

Please try the latest 6.x-1.x-dev version and let me know if that works better, there were a lot of problems with 6.x-1.11. Thank you.

I have just upgraded from 6.x-1.11 to 6.x-1.13. One feature that was seriously useful is now gone. 6.x-1.11 use to be able to "auto generate" a description from the node. I have looked and I can not find this in 6.x-1.13. (Generate meta tag content when the meta tag content is empty Generate meta tags content from the node teaser, or the node body when the node teaser is empty).

Will this option be brought back ?

I also tried the Dev and it too does not have this option any more.

Just so I know if I need to start manually updating all the pages on my website or just wait.

It looks like the settings for generation of meta tags is now part of the individual content type in 6.x-1.13. After upgrading to 6.x-1.13 (from 1.0) I can't seem to get the automatic generation of the description tag, though. I've tried all the different options but the descriptions are only appearing when manually filling it out.

So is this a feature request for 6.x-1.13 or is there something preventing the meta tags from being generated? Or is it just me? ;-)

I am not exactly replying to the original issue: Apparently the feature "Meta tags content generation options" is no longer available at admin/content/nodewords after updating from version 1.11 to 1.13. This is an issue when having thousands of pages -- one cannot just manually go in and fix that. For example, one very useful option was to get the description from the teaser as mentioned in comment #7.

I could, however, fix that by configuring all the content types where I want this behavior to "Generate meta tag content when the meta tag content is empty" and "Generate meta tags content from the node teaser".

Maybe I am overlooking something, but I feel this change could have been made a bit more obvious.

While the functionality exists, it is currently not obvious from the README.txt file how to do so nor is it mentioned on the main settings page. This patch adds some instructions to the README.txt file.
