I just ran an import process of 1800 people and it seems to have lost the reference to the saved settings somewhere and fell back to default email settings.

I experienced the same issue in the past with 5.x-2.x, but thought it was fixed.. I may have made a manual patch at that time. I think it was something to do with a variable_get or test in one place not using the same name as a variable_set in another? I will make some time to dig in further ..

I think I've fixed this in the latest dev version as part of work to restructure how variables are saved.

Will roll a new release shortly, please test and feel welcome to re-open the issue if problem is still there, I haven't been able to reproduce it.
