Okay, here's what I want to do. I've tried using several different modules with no luck at all, so hopefully somebody can help me out. It really should be very simple but I can't seem to figure it out.

Basically I want a module that allows me to upload an image, creates a thumbnail and the relevant code to include it, and adds it TO the page/story. I don't want to create another node altogether containing that image, and I don't want to just upload it to the node as an attachment and do it manually.

Is this possible?

The closest I seem to be able to get is using the Image Attach module - but this seems to insist on creating new nodes to contain every image..?

Hello,

I think simplest way to do this is by using Only local images are allowed. directly.... There are other ways but I think by this way u can include images in stories or post.... Be careful for putting images on server.. It should be in appropriate folder otherwise u will not be able to see images.... There is one bug in doing that as in preview it may not show but on submit it may show...So be careful in that also..

The TinyMCE WYSIWYG editor (or the FCKEditor) along with the IMCE module does the trick nicely on my site. I've written a short piece for my users on how to do this:

The IMCE module might work in isolation also...

This won't generate the thumbnail though. There is a module that can do all sorts of image manipulation when you upload an image, but the name escapes me...no it doesn't - Image cache! Try that too :)

Nope, don't mind at all. Just make sure you upload the pictures onto your own server - my bandwidth is very limited, thanks :)

What's the URL of your site, just so I know I've given permission?
