Is there a way to have a configurable setting to make the default for node updates to not send notices? When a users makes many small edits to a posting (to get it just right) the rest of the group members get many notification, unless the user remembers to go into the notifications vertical tab at the bottom and check "Do not send notifications for this update." I want to leave notifications on for node updates, but be able to set the default to not send updates unless the user unclicks this setting. Is this something strongarm can be set up to do? Or is it already configurable somewhere that I can't find?

yes, it might be nice if the default could be changed in strongarm, so site managers can pick how they want to handle it. For me, I would default to no notifications being sent for updates with the option for the user to override it and have the notification sent. But others might prefer to leave the default as it is. commons.acquia.com appears to send notifications for updates, but the user can check a box under the notifications tab to not send a notification.
