I've tried disabling the module and it's not an option (greyed out). I've tried making it appear only on the page and that doesn't work. I am at a loss on getting this demon block to respond to anything. Help?

Check out admin/structure/context and edit the "general" context. Then expand the "Blocks" link and remove the Facebook Fan box. Save the context and you should not see it anymore.
