In views add option to link thumbnail to the node page

Hi, did you find a way to achieve this?

Did anyone solved that problem?

For now I did #2 has well on my setup and it work. A bit of tweaking with EVA or DisplaySuite and it work.

But I think this is a feature who has to be implemented. Espacially in the display field of the node. Like you said, it should be like the image field. That way in teaser mode, for exemple, it would be possible to check a box, link to the node.

i'm also looking for the same functionality, but i dont understand how you did it, unless you're talking about adding a TEXT link above the thumbnail.. is that it?

i'm using Display Suite for Drupal 7.

do you know how to enable the thumbnail link for Video embed?

Just create a Views with all you arguments and display it has a block.
After that add a Display Suite Block to display your block you juste did in Views.
Go to the content type, and position you diplays suite block in your content.
If you did your views correctly it will work !

In my Views I add a field NID who is hidden and a field for the video. The argument is the node NID currently display, so you know exactly witch node to generate the thumbnail for. After that rewrite the link output of your video field to node/[nid].

I do want to add this into the formatters directly inside video embed. Its on the list - thanks for the suggestions

Here's a patch that adds the option (acessed via admin/structure/types/manage/video-post/display) to have clicking the thumbnail send you to the node page, the source of the video, or do nothing. I didn't add a colorbox option because you can just do that by changing the format.

This is working but if you want to use path aliases you should change this line
$element[$delta]['#prefix'] = '<a href="' . $base_path . 'node/'. $nid . '">';
to this:
$element[$delta]['#prefix'] = '<a href="' . $base_path . drupal_lookup_path('alias', 'node/'.$nid) . '">';
This is just a quick fix.

Good call - I should actually change this to run through l so we can get proper handling.
