I sell tours. I need a way for the customer to tell me WHEN and WHERE he wants his tour.

I simply comment box at checkout would solve the problem.

"Please tell us the times and locations of your transfer needs"

is this something I could do with amature prog skills?

Just wanted to bring this back to the topic. I am currently relying on the "comment" box in paypal. It sure would be nice to add a "User comment" to the checkout process. Has anyone accomplished this? Thanks.

Well, seems like a really basic addition..BUT My solution was to add a custom field in the user registration process. Hopefully we can have a custom "user comment box" at checkout and a way to customize the label such as "Please tell us what dates you would like your service" etc etc. It would really help. I have a lot of email from users with questions.. this could be minimized if a user comment box was available. Thanks

I as well need this functionality, except it would be ideal to have it available ON the product page in the fieldset where users select their quantity, or... in the case of a donation, where they state their gift amount.

In the case of a donation product, I'd name it "designation" or something, but a normal product would have it something like "comment".

I wouldn't add this to the cart component, but would suggest that it be setup in each product module. Or at least somehow hooked in to each product via the store... or something. iuno.. I'm not a programmer.

Is this a possibility for the near future? I'd sure love to switch from this lame PayPal option, but this functionality is very important to the online giving portion of our website.
