Okay,

This is OBVIOUSLY me, right? ;-)

So I'm willing to take the heat here for what stupid thing I'm overlooking.

I'm using WAMP on a local PC, and I know WAMP is running because I've got other php pages being served.

I'm trying to install Drupal 7.9 and I've got a multi-clipboard that I've saved the database name, the username , and the password to, yet when I paste that info into the Drupal install screen, it's telling me access denied for that user.

I've renamed the database and re-pasted everything from the same clipboard back in both phpmyadmin and the drupal install.

I'm not sure what's going on here but this is getting a little ridiculous and I thought I was decent at this stuff, but since I can't even install it, I may just have to go back to hand-coded pages or something.

Thanks for any help. I know it's my fault somewhere.

Have a good day,

- Paul

I had a similar problem. Culprit was a bad hosting; /

OKAY - so the fix was...

To make sure that "localhost" was being chosen in PHPMYADMIN instead of leaving it blank for the user.
