I have changed the favicon but it still appears as the Drupal one. I have tried different things, like changing options in the Theme settings and also changing an include file directly but it is still the old icon. I have also replaced it with a different file of the same name in the misc folder. But nothing appears to work. Please help.

After you have replaced the favicon, flush Drupal's and your browser's cache.

You should also save your favicon in .gif format, then change the extension to .ico, and save it to the drupal root folder. I found that my ipad didn't like the Drupal loaded favicon and was using an old one in my root folder. Changing this solved the problem.

You may also want to make sure that you are changing the favicon of the correct theme (if you have more than one installed).
