Hi,

I'm having problems trying to get categories and containers to work on my multi-lingual test site. I'm not sure if this should be logged against the Category module or the i18n module however.

I have set up a container "Container1" and have added one category to it "test1" with my language set to English. I now want to translate my "test1" category and description to Irish, so I've tried to use the "Translation" tab that I see when editing the category. There, my container is set to "Container1" but nothing appears in the "Parent" drop-down list which is a required field. I've tried translating the container to Irish (called "Container2") but still nothing appears in the "Parent" select box list.

Can anyone help?

Cheers,
Stella

Hi,

Just to second Stella's call for a solution here. I had high hopes that the Category module would (among other things) solve my difficulties with developing a multilingual Drupal site with fully operational category menus -- i18n does not translate taxonomy vocabularies, only terms -- but here I find the opposite problem: Category + i18n lets me translate containers but not categories, because of the missing parent! I think this must be a Category issue.

There is a patch for what seems to be a related problem at
http://drupal.org/node/121524

but applying the patch doesn't seem to solve the problem for translations. I still can't get a parent list.
