On my site (www.trans-academics.org), it works fine in FF, but in IE 6 it is not differentiating between internal and external links.

JConnell commentedI have the same issue but in both IE and FF 2.0.

quicksketchI can't reproduce this in either IE or FF. One of the initial problems with IE was it appends http:// to ALL links, even if they're internal. This problem was overcome though by checking the base path of the Drupal installation. Perhaps there is a problem there. Is Drupal installed in a subdirectory on these sites? Or can you provide a development site I can test out on?

quicksketchClosing this with a "works for me" situation. Check the development version, if this problem still exists please reopen. Thanks.

alix commentedI'm having this problem with Drupal 5.1 and External Links 5.x-1.3. I have a multi-site setup and External Links is installed into sites/all/modules. The base dir is set to http://www.mysite.com. The directory with the site-specific files is /sites/www.mysite.com. Based on this setup, will External Links always create this result in IE? It works fine in Firefox, but I will have to disable the module if I can't work around this for IE users.

alix commentedForgot to reopen this. Also, my site is http://www.alixnorth.com, but it is not a development site.

quicksketchViewing your site in IE, I can't find any internal links which are improperly marked as external. Could you be more specific about where the problem is occurring?

apsivam commentedI can confirm this weired behaviour in IE. I had similar issue when I first viewed my site but when refreshing things went right.

alix commentedMy apologies; I had to disable External Links due to this problem as everything opened in a new window, making it unusable for IE users. I thought I could keep it enabled but it was too problematic. I'm not sure what date I disabled it on; it may have been just before you checked it out.

quicksketchSince we haven't had any new reports of this issue in months I'm assuming that it's been corrected in the subsequent releases of extlink.
