I have it setup so that only external media can be added (no direct uploads, or browsing existing files). This is for many users to use.

Currently if one user attaches a video from youtube etc, and then a different user tries to attach the same video, it fails with the message "You have entered a URL for a video that is already in your library".

Obviously this is a little unhelpful, especially as users cannot access the library.

Although it may not be ideal to have the same videos attached multiple times, i don't think it should be prevented in every case.

Make sure you are using the latest 7.x-2.x because this actually should have already been addressed.

Make sure you've also updated Media: Youtube to the latest version as well.

I have the same problem. Here are the versions that I am using:

Mdeia : 7.x-2.x-dev
Media: YouTube : 7.x-1.0-alpha5

Updating to the latest dev version of the Media: YouTube module fixed the problem for me.
