EllECTRONC commentedDo you opened site on the same PC or different? May be your PC's time was changed in this 5 minutes, automatic time sync?
lordrt21 commentedAm accessing the site from a different pc on LAN, with my PC synced with time.windows.com server
I got another issue as well, this time on a live site, hosted on OVH server, I set time to 10 minutes, but it shows somthing like 2 mins and counted down only these 2 mins

EllECTRONC commentedYou watched site from different PC with different timezone settings (or one PC have wrong timezone), that's why you saw wrong time.
You need to check this manualy or do resync your time.
Your another issue: that's because you and server have different time OR you just spent 8 minutes to logout. Try to sync your PC's time and server time. That's not an issue, that's OK, we all have a different time. )

lordrt21 commentedok thanks
Comment #6
lordrt21 commentedHowever, could we get another version, which does not rely on the time sync of pcs or servers, and instead just work as a normal countdown, like if specify 5 minutes and launched, it gives countdown for 5 minutes, irrespective or server / client time?
EllECTRONC commentedIt works like normal timer, but time always will rely on time on your PC and/or server. Look. When you save maintenance page it take server time for countdown, but timer time shows according time and timezone on your PC. So, if server have offset in -3 mins from real time and your PC have offset +5 min from real time, then when you set +5min for maintenance, you will see "times up" message. Or, if you have offset -3 min and server +5, so on timer you will see 13 mins.
Not me, neither someone else can do anything with this. This is the feature of time.
It's like your watch and watch of your friend, if you have different time you will come to meeting not in one time.
Sorry, for late answer, I could not reply owing to technical problems.
