Great component! Almost exactly what i need...

I am looking for a way to extent the usability of your audio component:
I found a script that enables people to record voice or whatever though their microphone.
(Have a look: http://www.vimas.com/mp3.php) This is stored localy until th user like's it enough to upload it to the server.

I like this to be implemented with your audio module.
So instead of looking for a media file to be uploaded your module should take over the upload action from this script and treat it as an audio like the others.

I noticed as a comment that the audio module can be used by other nodes as it say's: "Function for other modules to use to create a audio node from a file."

I want to ask you if you can help me with this.
Either point me in the right direction how to do this myself, or that you build this for me and tell me your price for this project...

I really hope to hear from you soon as i don't have much time left.
Any help is appreciated!!

Hey this is kinda cool. I tried it on their demo site and it seemed to work. What's the license on this little JAVA app?

Hello there,

I'm also interested in this feature. However, as described in http://drupal.org/node/69242, the link that you pointed to refers to a commercial Java applet that costs $300.00 It would be great to implement an open-source version of that applet. Until that happens, I guess the best would be to create a patch or module to embed Vimas audio recorder in Drupal pages...

Please let me know what you figure out, ok?

Thanks,

Leo

Yes sure, if there is an open source solution that can do the same that would even be better.
But for the moment i hope someone can help to build this into the drupal audio module..

Or what would be even better is to create a new module from the audio module with this integrated, so that these two modules can be installed both in one drupal website.

Anyone?

Hi Leoburd, just read the other treat you wrote about. I didn't know there already was such a discussion going on.
Aparently there is a lot of demand for such a feature.

Don't you think that untill there is an open source alternative we can give the vimas recorder a try?

And my guess is that it should be very easy for the audio module developer to implement.
Just add the recorder above the input field and have the audio component use the recorded file.
Or am i overlooking something and is it much harder to acomplish?

Hope to hear from you!
