What about having a handler for the Relation module?
This would add flexibility and standardization of the hierarchy

I tried do make a quick handler, but I must admit it didn't worked.

This is an issue was for 7.x-1.x-dev, which is unsupported now. Moving to 7.x-2.x-dev branch. If I get time I will update the documentation. In 7.x-2.x branch the handlers are much more simple.
