Hi,
Currently my site hosted in a shared hosting, as it now consumes more resources because the traffic grows my web hosting administrator said my site has already outgrown the shared hosting limit.
I would like to ask what is your recommended VPS. As I have searched the web I came across the following VPS:
-VPS.NET
-Linode
-Rackspace
-inmotion hosting
-webhostingpad
I am confused what VPS to choose. Please help me what to choose (or any other VPS not in the list that you may recommend) is the best for Drupal 7 site.
Thanks,
Roland

Is it possible to implement CDN to Linode?
Thank you. I am choosing between VPS.net and Linode. VPS.net has CDN but Linode don't have. I'm aware that learning curve of using Linode is steep and I'm worried if I choose Linode and found out that there is no way or impossible to setup CDN system using Linode then it will just waste of effort and time. I would like to ask if there's online library or link(s) for tutorial on how to implement VPS on Linode. On the other hand, is it possible to implement VPS on Linode platform? Do you know case studies for Linode's customers who have developed their own CDN deployment utilising the Linode platform? Thanks in advance.

I don't think linode is a good choice for CDN but it is possible.
As a VPS you have root access, you can do anything you want.
Here is Linode online library : http://library.linode.com/getting-started. You can find a lot of high quality documents there.
For CDN, maybe you could try:
cloud files on rackspace.com
Cloudlayer CDN on softlayer.com
or
Amazon CloudFront

I have been using Rackspace for over a year now and so far their cloud services have blown me away! Since, your server is hosted on the cloud, you can deploy as many servers as you want, and scale them as you see fit. That knd of flexibility comes very handy when you are learning the technical aspects of a VPS or need to use more resources.
In terms of cost it might come out less because you will paying for only usage, whereas other companies ask for a flat price regardless of usage. The stats from your current site will help you understand whether it will cost you more or less if use a cloud service like Rackspace.
I haven't used other companies you mentioned but from the looks of it they are offering similar solution with a little variation in price.

I don't think there is a right answer, as it depends on several other factors. E.g. whether you want a bare server to build up, and generic cpanel or plesk server to tune for Drupal, or a solution which is already set up to work well with Drupal. Also the related question of how much you are prepared to pay for support (as expensive VPS should have more skilled and responsive engineers on support).
Also VPS are not all the same in terms of resources. Sometimes quite reputable companies seem to have problems with a VPS user not getting the resources he is paying for owing to lack of protection from abuse by other VPSs on the same setup. This happened to me, the host denied it for a long time and eventually admitted there was a problem. I found 1G of dedicated was worth far more than 1G of VPS. But I am sure it is not always that way.

There are many good vps which should be able to fit into your needs. If your site is not for critical business, then I would recommend Linode if you really want otherwise, I should go for softlayer or rackspace.
