This is a really handle module! However, all images should have alt text. Can you a include field for it?

I created a patch which adds alt and title fields which can be edited via the imageblock form.

Patched against 7.x-1.2 branch. (This is my first submitted patch so I'm still trying to get my head around the whole process, sorry).
