On my site, I need to track popularity of on-site news stories along with news stories aggregated from other sites.

My 'news' content type for this has a link field redirection set up, in order to send visitors automatically to an external URL when they navigate to the node's page (if it has a URL attached to the news story)

Unfortunately it appears that when this field redirection is active, the radioactive field does not change the node's radioactivity on click through. I weighted the radioactivity field lighter than the field redirection in all displays other than Teaser view , thinking that it would be rendered in this order before the page gets redirected, but this does not have any effect.

Is there anything I can do to have the radioactivity altered before the page is redirected, or are there specific steps to set up for this sort of use-case?
