Works intermittently

I enabled the module for user and registration forms, with 'show links, open them in a modal'. The user page opened with standard tabbed menu. Clicking on a link sometimes showed modal form, on second attempt, but sometimes it started then failed to load, or did not start but went directly to the normal page. Using an adequate server.
