Using OpenScholar 2.0 BETA13 — on a live website: John Clements

I am experiencing a confounding issue that seems to be related to posts with images within them. This is a major issue, since I cannot update these nodes. The site is a recent install of the OS distro.

Saving new or existing nodes that contain images results in the page not saving and being served a Page Not Found error (404).

  • I've flushed all caches, including the relevant imagecache.
  • There are no error logs on the server.

I don't know what else to do. Can anyone suggest what might be causing this.
NB. Searching for 'Page Not Found' errors on drupal.org results in no obvious help.

What kind of content type ? Are they inline images or attachments ? I see lots of posts with images in your site (great site btw !!)

thanks,
Ferdi

Inline images, Ferdi, within the articles section, in particular.

The gallery images are something separate.
Glad you like the site, b/t/way

What's the URL of the page you're getting a 404 on?

jbc’s picture

http://johnclements.net/node/8/edit?destination=blog

is a prime example. However, there is nothing particular about the node. It can be repeated on a new, test node, which saves ok, until I edit it with the insertion of an inline image, using the OS inline (javascript) editor.

(The issue is not related to the j/s editor because I have saved nodes, like this one, that cannot now be edited and saved…unless I delete the image / html including the image).

The Page Not Found url [for the above example] is http://johnclements.net/node/8/edit?destination=blog and refreshing returns to the edit page.

Thanks for your attention to this.

Priority: Major » Critical

I am unable to create content if it includes an image and so I have upgraded this support request to critical. Trust this is in order.

I have completely refreshed the code base using the original BETA13 download AND installed a fresh instal using a new database…only to find that the error is repeated. I have also restored backups as far back as I can (five days), to no avail.

When I try to do so, I creates an image in the files directory, but not the imagecache / inline_default folder. So, I tried incorporating an image of original size, so that imagecache is not required. The image is uploaded to the files directory, but the system still provides me with the Page Not Found error.

I am at a loss to know what else to do to resolve this.

Such is my frustration, I have migrated my site to WordPress…

Adieu Drupal (after 7 years!) and OpenScholar…
Thanks to all who offered help and support. It's been a journey.
