When jQuery Update module is enabled, ajax based window in Panels (Selection rules » Contexts » Choose layout » Panel settings » Panel content) freezes without any further progress or error messages.

Panels 7.x-3.x-dev seems not to be compatible with jQuery 1.5.2 and jQuery UI 1.8.11
and jQuery Update 7.x-2.2 (Updates jQuery to jQuery 1.5.2 and jQuery UI 1.8.11.)

This is related to #1360284: Panels 7.x-3.x-dev not compatible with jQuery Update (jQuery 1.5.2 and jQuery UI 1.8.11).

I assume there's a difference between the issues, but I don't see it, care to point it out?

No real difference, this issue is created for Panels, the second one is for jQuery Update.

Didn't notice. Closing the other one as a dup, since we shouldn't have two separate issues about the same problem.
Have you done any debugging, checked with firebug or the like?

I run it through firebug
and I got 2 errors:

uncaught exception: Syntax error, unrecognized expression: [href=/admin/structure/pages/nojs/operation/node_view]

There may be other modules that have conflicts too.

Based on what I've read in #1104324: JQuery Update potential cause for loss of Admin Module menu functionality this issue seems like an easy enough fix, but now that I poke around in the code, I can't seem to find what is referenced in #5. Can someone with this problem point me to a file and line-number?

I have no idea what happen with the script i have entered is it a script issue or is it a drupal issue
